ECF Sea Without Litter Project

Dear all,

South China Diving Club (SCDC) and Aberdeen Boat Club (ABC) have been signatory for the WWF Sea Without Litter Project since March 2017.

This is a one-year project (now extended to Sept 2018) with the following goals:

1. Raise awareness of litter and its impacts;

2. enlist marine users to following a litter prevention code of conduct;

2. encourage marine users to sort and recycle litter;

4. and inspire marine user groups to develop long-term litter reduction solutions

SCDC already took part in the AFCD Reef Check in October 2017. Part of the exercise was dedicated to underwater litter pick-up.

The next events will be: a WWF educational talk and a Beach Clean-up.

SCDC in partnership with ABC will conduct a beach clean-up departing from Aberdeen Boat Club.

Fine details will be sent later, but please pin the following dates in your calendar:

1. Thursday 22nd of March, Aberdeen Boat Club, WWF talk

2. Saturday 24th of March beach clean-up.

Boat spaces are limited therefore if you wish to participate to the beach clean-up day (24/03/18) please e-mail alex at alex69@alexgrioni.com. No confirmation is necessary for the talk night.
